THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF YOUR TEEN IS OUR TOP PRIORITY
WE HAVE A NUMBER OF ELEMENTS IN PLACE TO ENSURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE PROTECTED.
Campus:
Both of our Alexander Muss High School in Israel Campuses are completely fenced and guarded. There is only one entrance, which is gated and manned by a guard 24 hours a day. A guard also patrols both campuses regularly.
Free Time:
When students have free time, they must request and receive permission from staff to leave campus. If granted, teens can go into Hod HaSharon, three blocks from campus. When in “The Hod,” students are required to be in groups. In Be'er Sheva, students can explore and shop in the area adjacent to the campus.
Groups On Tiyul:
Our students take Muss chartered buses for trips, which depart from campus. Groups are always accompanied by an armed guard/paramedic.
Policies:
Throughout our 50+ year history, Muss has contended with various security-related scenarios. We monitor the situation in Israel daily, review precautions in place and adjust our security as needed.
Muss works directly with a trusted Israeli security authority who directs us on all matters of safety. This authority, who is also employed by the Ministry of Education, is in constant contact with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the police.
We do everything possible to safeguard our students. A detailed itinerary is submitted to the security authority for approval 14 days before each trip. This itinerary is reviewed immediately, and again on the day of the trip. If there is any doubt regarding the trip, the route or any specific site, our staff and teachers will immediately make the necessary changes.
We require all our students to have phones equipped with cellular data to make sure communication is never an issue between our campus and students.
As an apolitical organization we do allow parents to authorize travel across the Green Line for an open Shabbat with family or friends.
Open Shabbat:
A handful of weekends are designated as Open Shabbatot for students to visit family and friends, or stay with a host family. For those that go off campus, we require parental authorization and host information in advance. We highly recommend that friends
or family members pick up and return your child directly to/from campus. We have a designated taxi service available as well.
