Chief Executive Officer

Gideon Shavit, from Israel, began his position as AMHSI CEO at the start of 2007. Prior to joining AMHSI , Gideon was the Jewish National Fund (JNF) Israel emissary (shaliach) for the Miami-Dade region for a period of about 3 years. In addition to Miami, Gideon served as the JNF emissary for both Sydney, Australia and Vancouver, Canada - both for 3-4 year periods.
Before joining JNF, Gideon was the President of Rotem Industries.

During his many years of 'shlichoot', he has gained vast financial and managerial experience. As CEO, his duties include being responsible for the organization's overall management, performance and strategy formulation as well as overseeing fundraising efforts in the United States. He coordinates the Israeli Educational organization and its infrastructure with the US based student recruitment, school administration and all financial resource development operations.
Gideon lives in Tel Aviv with his wife, Edna. He travels regularly in order to promote AMHSI to Jewish communities abroad.
